Viewing & Visiting

Do I need to book an appointment to view a van?

We’re open Monday–Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday 9am–4pm. We recommend calling ahead on 0121 492 0785 to confirm the van is still available before making the journey. You can also WhatsApp Max directly on 07977 471 101 — we’re on WhatsApp from 8am to 7:30pm.

Can I get a video walkaround before I come in?

Absolutely. Not sure it’s worth the drive? Just ask — we’ll film a full walkaround of the van and send it straight over. No obligation whatsoever.

Do you offer a free collection from the train station?

Yes — if you’re travelling by train, we offer a free collection from Old Hill train station, which is just a short drive from our site in Cradley Heath. Let us know in advance and we’ll be there to meet you. Old Hill is served by trains from Birmingham New Street and across the West Midlands.

Do you offer delivery?

We don’t currently offer delivery — collection is from our site in Cradley Heath. If you’re travelling from a distance, give us a call — and don’t forget the free train collection from Old Hill if you need it.

Part Exchange

Do you accept part exchanges?

Yes, we consider part exchanges. Give us a call or send over the details of your vehicle and we’ll give you an honest valuation.

What if my van is older or higher mileage?

For older or higher-mileage vehicles, many of our customers find they get a better price through a specialist buying company rather than a traditional part exchange. Here’s a route that works really well:

Don’t Part Exchange — Use “We Buy Any Car” Instead

1. Get an online estimate in minutes. Just enter your reg at webuyanycar.com. Ballpark only — not a guaranteed price, but gives you a good starting point.

2. Confirm your actual value at a local branch. Take it to any We Buy Any Car branch near you to get the real confirmed offer. There are branches everywhere — it’s rarely far to go.

3. Go and view vans — no rush. Your confirmed offer is typically held for around seven days. Shop around, take your time, no pressure.

4. Found one you like? Drop your van at any branch nationwide. When you’re ready, sell at whichever branch is most convenient — same-day payment for a small £25 fee. It doesn’t have to be the branch where you got the confirmed offer.

The nearest We Buy Any Car branch is Halesowen, just two miles from us. Come and view the van first — if you decide to buy, drop your vehicle at Halesowen the same day and we’ll collect you from the branch and bring you back. Everything sorted in one trip.

Van Sourcing & Fleet

Can you source a specific van if you don’t have it in stock?

Possibly — it depends on whether it’s the type of van we’d normally stock and sell. We don’t want to be left with something that doesn’t fit our market, so it’s not always possible. In most cases we do this for returning customers rather than first-time enquiries. Call us and we’ll be honest about whether we can help.

Do you offer a bulk sourcing service for businesses?

Yes — for customers who’ve bought three or more vans from us, we offer a fleet sourcing service where we locate vans on your behalf for a fixed fee of £1,000 + VAT per van. Warranty and preparation can be added on top if required. Call Max directly on 07977 471 101 to discuss.

Finance

Do you offer van finance?

Yes, finance is available on all standard vans. We’re linked directly into Car Finance 247’s system, which connects to a panel of lenders — you only need to enter your details once and it goes through multiple lenders automatically. Monthly prices are shown on every listing.

Can I get finance with bad credit?

Yes. We work with specialist lenders who understand real-world situations, including customers with previous credit issues. The best thing to do is apply — we’ll tell you honestly what’s available.

What deposit will I need?

On commercial vehicles, the typical deposit is the VAT amount. In some cases it may be possible to go lower, but that would need to be confirmed with the lender individually. Call us and we’ll talk you through it.

Are you FCA regulated?

Yes. Midland Cars Online Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 663 672). We act as a credit broker, not a lender.

Warranty

Does every van come with a warranty?

Generally yes — most vans come with a warranty included as standard. The specific type and terms are agreed at the point of sale, and we always make sure you know exactly what you’re getting before you commit. Specific warranty offers are sometimes stated in the advert itself.

What types of warranty do you offer?

We offer three levels:

  • Back to Base — parts and labour at our premises. You bring the van to us and we sort it.
  • External Provider — a national warranty through a third-party provider. Repairs can often be authorised at a local garage, subject to provider approval.
  • Parts Only — we supply approved parts at our cost. Labour, diagnostics and transport are the customer’s responsibility, and parts must be fitted by a VAT-registered garage.

Does negotiating a discount affect my warranty?

It can. Where a price reduction is agreed, the warranty terms may be adjusted — for example, an excess per claim may apply, the term may be shorter, or coverage may move from national to back-to-base. We always confirm this in writing as part of the sale paperwork so everything is completely clear before you commit.

What do I do if something goes wrong after purchase?

Call us on 0121 492 0785 before arranging any repair — prior authorisation is required under all warranty types. Read our reviews — looking after customers after the sale is something we take seriously.

Who fits the van security locks?

Fittings are carried out by Van Locks Birmingham, based on site at Gawne Business Park. They are an approved Lock4Vans fitting centre with over 10 years of experience, operating from a modern indoor facility in Cradley Heath, just 8 miles from Birmingham. What types of lock do they fit?

Van Locks Birmingham fit the full Lock4Vans range — deadlocks, hook locks and slam locks for sliding doors, barn doors and cab doors. Commonly fitted models include Ford Transit, Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Citroën Dispatch, Peugeot Expert, Vauxhall Combo and Peugeot Partner.

Why do I need extra van security?

Van theft is a serious and growing problem across the West Midlands. Tradespeople are particularly targeted because of the tools they carry. Additional locks act as a strong deterrent and can also help reduce your insurance premium. Factory locks alone are often not enough — criminals specifically target weaknesses around sliding and barn doors.

Most are — we tend to stock four to five-year-old vehicles, which are generally ULEZ compliant. Always confirm on the individual listing before purchase.
